Fred Fourcher President and CEO
Fred Fourcher is the Chairman and co-founder of Bitcentral. In 1980, he founded Miralite Communications, which became Bitcentral when the firm began focusing on digital file-based solutions. Mr. Fourcher led Miralite to design and build many large satellite networks worldwide. His vision of how satellite communications technology could be successfully applied resulted in Miralite becoming an industry leader in radio, television, and education distribution networks.
Recognizing the opportunity to provide worldwide voice and data services by satellite and fiber, in 1992 Mr. Fourcher also founded DirectNet Telecommunications, an international common carrier. He served as DirectNet's President from 1992 through 1994, during which time he implemented the Company's global network strategy. DirectNet's 1999 revenues were close to $90 million.
Mr. Fourcher is well positioned to leverage his unique industry experience in order to exploit new market opportunities for Bitcentral in the broadcast technologies industry.
David Arechiga Vice President of Software Development
David Arechiga as Vice President of Software Development brings over 20 years of software and architecture experience. He is a highly successful Information Technology professional with proven expertise in planning, development and delivery of system design and implementation. He is skilled in all aspects of analysis, development and management of IT based systems and resources. Before joining Bitcentral, Mr. Arechiga was a senior manager for Deloitte Consulting where he led teams to deliver systems for Fortune 500 companies, including Warner Bros, AT&T Wireless and Polycom.
As Vice President of Engineering, Mr. King directs and manages all services related to the digital broadcasting and satellite communications markets. He is responsible for building service revenue such as engineering, consulting, integration, installation, customer support, customer training, ongoing software maintenance support, and other technical support services. As a veteran of the Public Broadcasting Service, Mr. King has 25 years of experience in commercial and public broadcasting, specializing in all areas of earth station technology, studio and facility design, satellite analysis and field engineering supervision. Mr. King is key in the development of Bitcentral's technical knowledge base and system configuration.
Julia Johnstone joined BitCentral in 2004 and serves as Vice President of Finance. In this role, she has overall responsibility for the controllership and financial reporting activities of Bitcentral.
She previously held a variety of senior financial management positions with several private and publicly held corporations. Ms. Johnstone has overall responsibility for financial reporting, planning and budgeting, systems of internal controls, corporate and benefits accounting.
Ms. Johnstone has more than 18 years of diverse financial management experience and holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University, California.
Vice President, Sales Alex Keighley brings to Bitcentral nearly twenty years commercial experience at media owners and news agencies in Europe.
Over the last five years he has held various senior management roles at the Associated Press, including Regional Director for Northern Europe, Middle East & Africa and Director of Sales, Europe, Middle East & Africa. Alex shifted AP’s commercial efforts away from traditional print media towards digital and video. He launched AP Headline, a newswire designed for the 24-hour needs of digital and broadcast newsrooms, and an Arabic Language service, AP’s first new foreign language product in more than fifty years. Under his leadership AP video became as ubiquitous on European websites as it has long been on European TV.
Prior to this Alex was at Reuters, where he led their media sales teams, and held leadership roles at European newspapers, including the Times and London’s Evening Standard.
