Alex Keighley’s sales management position

extends to domestic broadcast news markets

IRVINE, Calif. – Aug. 11, 2009 – Bitcentral, Inc., a leading provider of news production, archiving and distribution solutions to television stations, announced today that their current EMEA General Manager, Alex Keighley, has been appointed to take on an additional leadership role as the company’s Vice President of US Sales.

Keighley’s duties will include the ongoing stateside deployment of Bitcentral’s Precis and Oasis newsroom solutions, in addition to the continued development of the Oasis Media Marketplace, an innovative news sharing and revenue generation product that received the Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award earlier this year.

Under the direction of CEO Fred Fourcher, Keighley will also manage the company’s key domestic and international accounts. “Alex has 20 years of management and sales experience handling news agencies and media owners in Europe, and his talents have already been a tremendous asset to Bitcentral in helping to grow its presence on a global level,” said Fourcher. “His commitment to meeting our company’s sales goals will have a profound effect on our ability to continue reaching critical broadcast markets in the US,” he added.

Keighley graduated with honors from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.  During the span of his 20-year career, he has held senior management roles at the Associated Press, including Regional EMEA Director, and Director of EMEA Sales, where he successfully shifted AP’s commercial efforts away from traditional print media towards digital and video. He also launched AP Headline, a newswire designed for the 24-hour needs of digital and broadcast newsrooms, in addition to an Arabic language service. Keighley’s media sales history also includes leadership roles at Reuters, and various European newspapers, including the Times and London’s Evening Standard. He joined Bitcentral as the EMEA General Manager in February.
